London Life by Colin O’Brien – Leica Store Mayfair
I’ve received an invitation for the BPS to an event at the Leica Store Mayfair on Wednesday 29th July 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
They will be hosting a book signing of LONDON LIFE by Colin O’Brien published by Spitalfields Life Books.
Since 1948, Colin O’Brien has been photographing the life of Londoners, capturing dramatic and affectionate images which speak eloquently of change and continuity in the daily existence of the city and its people.
Arranged chronologically and selected from seven decades of work in the capital, LONDON LIFE is a social record of breathtaking expanse and Colin O’Brien’s superlative photography – distinguished by its human sympathy and aesthetic flair – stands comparison with any of the masters of twentieth century British photography.
They will have images from his current exhibition on display, Colin will also be talking about his work (6:30pm) and signing copies of his book LONDON LIFE by Colin O’Brien published by Spitalfields Life Books.
Colin still owns the beloved Leica IIIa that he took them with and will be bringing it along with him.
At the talk, they will be serving complimentary beer and refreshments and giving away copies of Colin’s famous Clerkenwell Car Crash poster.
I’ll be heading over so if anyone is interested. Tickets are free but you need to register with Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/london-life-with-leica-tickets-17600731261
